New rule for releasing in the Content Database
Posted by birk on 03. August 2005 at 22:33:49GMT

Well actually this isn't really a new rule but just a little reminder of an already existing rule or common sense. Please gather different versions or episodes in the same release if possible in any way or form. There is no reason for having 5 threads by the same release with 5 different versions. Use the edit button to edit an already existing release so that the content DB can remain fast and easy to browse and understand. Thank you for your understanding...

New rule for releasing in the Content Database
Posted by birk on 20. July 2005 at 08:47:05GMT

With the implementation of collections in eMule 0.46b users started releasing collections instead of regular files. This is a big problem for moderators and admins who verifies those releases as they have no other option than deleting those releases due to the fact that they can not verify what the collections contain. The Content Database already have the option to download all released files as an emule collection so there is absolutely no reason to release collections. So the following new rule applies from as of now:

All releases containing an eMule collection will be deleted!

eMule Collections
Posted by birk on 02. July 2005 at 15:29:24GMT

You may have noticed that all releases here on eMule Content Database now have additional download option Download complete release as eMule-Collection before all the other files. This is something you will be able to use starting from version 0.46b of eMule. It is a simple way of grouping several ED2K links together into a collection. Very usefull for collections of related songs for example. We all hope you like it when the new version of eMule comes out.

New content DB moderator
Posted by birk on 30. May 2005 at 11:41:29GMT

JLP has been added as new moderator for the content DB. This should speed up the verification process even further than it already is. A warm welcome to him since I know he will do a great job!

Content Delays
Posted by Unknown1 on 16. December 2004 at 06:21:50GMT

I was out for an extended time and it seems some releases may have not gotten verified or bumped. I tried to clean up the list, but it wasn't pretty. So, it is not perfect, but this is the best I can do for now. The releases in the future should not take as long to be moderated.

This also makes me want to point something out. It seems there may be a couple people that are causing their release to need to be re-moderated in the hopes that will bump their release. Anyone that continues to do this will have none of their releases bumped in the future. All this does is cause us more work trying to find out what the hell you actually changed on your release that caused us to need to remoderate it.

What I need is for anyone that wants to release or currently has releases here to please read this forum post. Is shows some information about the release process.

Database Lost
Posted by Unknown1 on 10. January 2004 at 16:06:07GMT

We had our first mess up with the database and had to restore a older database.. Please recheck your releases.. The download numbers may not look right for a while, I will look into correcting these numbers..

Content Page Now Up
Posted by Unknown1 on 09. January 2004 at 05:15:27GMT

This site is still being tested and changed, so expect strange things to happen now and then.. In fact, there is already a v2.0 of the board being created. Thanks to the sharelive crew for letting us use their software.

We (the eMule team) have offically linked this page to our homepage. So hopefully we will begin to get more users here.

For those that don't know, we wanted to give the users a chance to show the world that P2P can be used for good! Please, if you created something that you want to share to the world, use us as a free means to do it. Do you have a band you want to get known? Are you a producer that wants an audience? Are you an artists? Did you create a great program that you know others will love? Use us to get to your skills known.

The only way this site will work is if you the users actually use it.. We can only give you the opportunity, you must take it..

If things goes well, we will continue to add features to the site.. Right now we are trying to make it simple..

DNS Errors!
Posted by Unknown1 on 08. January 2004 at 16:40:23GMT

There are DNS issues going on at the moment. If you tried to go to eMule's main webpage and ended up here, that is why. The DNS issues also has this content page messed up. We are trying to fix the problem, so please be patient.

Our New Content Site
Posted by Unknown1 on 08. December 2003 at 08:48:11GMT

Well, the site is pretty much done.. I want to thank Intimidated for helping out and allowing us to use Sharelive's code. Therefore, you will most likely notice several bugs that may be leftovers during the convertion process.

As you see, our site pretty much has no links at all.. We are needing people that want to show that a free, open source, P2P client has plenty of legal uses. We need moderators and releasers that want to populate our database. If you think your one of these people, please goto this link.
