Active spam killer for windows (afw) is a challenge/response spam filter system for the Windows platform. It builds on the Active Spam Killer (ASK) for Linux.

As well as adding Windows compatibility to ASK by wrapping it in a pop3 client/server pair, afw includes a full web interface to the ask mail queue, its filtering lists, user administration, and module options. In addition, afw allows an unlimited number of users, each of whom can define an unlimited number of remote pop3 servers to poll.
A challenge/response spam filter is an offensive way to deal with spam mail. After a period operating as a standard spam filter (building white-/black-/ignorelists) you can turn on confirmation requests for unattended spam handling. If an incoming mail does not match any of the lists, afw sends out a confirmation request and awaits reply from the sender. Upon reception of the confirmation, the sender is permanently added to the whitelist and the original mail is delivered. Since spammers are unlikely to reply to confirmation requests, your spam problem will be solved from now on. Remember to add "unresponsive" but friendly senders (listservers et.c.) to your whitelist manually.

This application requires a Python runtime evironment to be installed and properly functioning. Restart Windows after installing Python, even if not prompted.

READ the instructions for use well, or you will create more problems than you solve.

Python is included for convenience.
