"Steel Panthers: World at War" is a tactical turn-based wargame set in the era of World War 2 (actually spanning the time from 1930 to 1949, to cover what-if scenarios). Besides pre-made and random scenarios, you can play pre-made or random campaigns, choosing any belligerent of the conflict, or create your own content by using the provided tools.

In the game you control individual tanks, infantry squads, artillery, etc. and can fight either against the AI or a human player (hotseat and PBEM). The game is derived from SSI's "Steel Panthers 3" game-engine and has added many improvements over it.

Release contains full freeware game v8.20, patches v8.30, v8.40, v8.403 and the free editor toolkit from Fred Chlanda.
The patches are incremental and must be applied in order of version numbers.
